Hawzah News Agency- In this meeting, which was attended by the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali, and a group of Shia and Sunni scholars, both sides discussed joint cooperation in the field of approximation of Islamic religions and the promotion of moderate interpretation of Islam based on logic and rationality of religion.
A member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries, who has traveled to this country at the invitation of the head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Russian Muslims with the aim of participating in the "Spiritual Silk Road" international conference, conveyed the greetings of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the Grand Mufti and the Muslims of Russia, saying,” By taking advantage of civilizational capacities and recommending rationality and moderation, the religion of Islam can solve the problems of modern mankind in overcoming the challenges of the world.”
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Mustafa International University said,” In the last two decades, this scientific center and seminaries in Iran have taken extensive measures in the way of rebuilding religious thought and presenting it to the world.”
The juristic member of Iran’s Guardian Council further noted that Islamic thought can establish a civilization based on rationality, spirituality, justice, peace and fighting oppression, suitable for today's world, and its sources are found in the Quran and Sunnah.
The Head of seminaries went on to say,” In this regard, we are pursuing a hundred transformation plans in developing Islamic sciences and responding to human needs in the contemporary world.”
“The seminary of Qom, the Late Imam Khomeini and the Islamic revolution, was a new movement in the contemporary world for the revival of divine values and the correct presentation of religion to the world and humanity; the Islam we are talking about is not radical, extremist, sectarian Islam; rather it is rational, spiritual and justice oriented.” Ayatollah Arafi added.
The member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution continued by referring to the problems in the world and considered them to be rooted in the lack of morality, spirituality and justice and said,” poverty, corruption, discrimination, the destruction of families, environmental problems and injustice are rampant in the current world. And we see an example of it in oppressed Gaza, where the brutality of the Zionist regime has led to the massacre of the Palestinian people, and the countries that support the Zionist regime and claim freedom and defend human rights do not react to such crimes.”
Ayatollah Arafi further addressed Mufti Sheikh Ravil Ainuddin stating,” Your stances regarding world issues are rational and appropriate to the atmosphere of Russia and the new world, and the intelligent actions you take in protecting Islam and the interests of the people of your country are praiseworthy.”
He went on to say that, God willing, by maintaining the development process of relations between Iran and Russia in the government of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the president-elect of Iran, we will see the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two countries, Iran and Russia, because the signing of this comprehensive program is one of the prerequisites for improving the level of relations between the two countries.”
